Wymondham Archers Third WRS WA Weekend was held on 11th & 12th June 2022 with Harry, Louise, Jordan, Mel and Daniel attending.
Day One – Saturday
Day one was a ranking round with head to heads. 70m for recurve and longbow, 60m for masters and 50m for barebow and compound. The weather was sunny but there was also a strong breeze from the south-west all day with gusts at times. In the qualification round Harry ranked first with a score of 580 and Mel ranked 6th with a score of 481. Jordan ranked 6th with a score of 490 and Louise ranked 1st with a score of 520.
In the head to heads Harry won all his matches to finish 1st overall and Mel fought well through the matches and ended up coming 3rd overall.
Day Two – Sunday
Day two was WA1440 and Metrics with four distances of 90m, 70m, 50m and 30m for all bow types. The weather was sunny but slightly overcast at times there was a breeze from the south-west which got stronger after lunchtime.
Shooting single detail certainly sped things along and at one point we were an hour ahead of time, with most of us back home by 4pm. Mel finished 3rd in men’s recurve with 986. Jordan finished 7th in men’s compound with a score of 1,022 and Daniel finished 1st in men’s barebow with a score of 713.
