Junior Warwick Club Records

A nice calm Sunday for shooting for a change. Daniel shot a Long National, Maggie shot an American, whilst Malcolm (Barebow) and Rob (American Flatbow) both shot a Junior Warwick – both record scores at 320 and 225 (if we record junior rounds for Gents!). It’s nice to see Rob back (I have un-archived his records on the system).

Ending on a sad note though, sadly yesterday for the second time this week Mike W. lost another arrow to the wicked outdoor season. The first saw the carbon strip away from the aluminium like a cheese string just by hitting the grass, whilst the second arrow yesterday came away from the target with no point and a cracked end. May they rest in pieces.

St. Nick in the Summer

What a great windy day to shoot a St. Nicholas round, which is 4 dozen at 40 yards and 3 dozen at 30 yards. It was a great decision to shoot from the tree lined end of the field for a change. This removed the sun from our eyes, put the wind behind us, provided a shady area to shoot from and it gave us some very nice downward shadows on the arrows in the target.

Everyone who shot the St. Nicholas round today gained a Personal Best, but Mary also gained an Ely Club Record with 474 on her barebow. Bart gained an Ely Club Record with 296 on his barebow, Daniel scored 692 an Ely Club Record and Danielle scored an impressive 541 on her recurve which was also an Ely Club Record.

A nice afternoon of shooting, plus there was also some fun to be had with balloons.
