Lots of archery on a beautiful evening. Maggie was awarded her WA70 record certificate and Mike Williamson was awarded his 2nd Class Recurve badge, congratulations to both of you. Maggie and David ran their last beginners’ course night of the season, our thanks to them for their efforts to bring more archers into the world, we may see more club members as a result. Martin Ley shot another third class Warwick and has now achieved his Third Class Archer status, congratulations Martin. See you on Friday

Another hot and Sunny day ! Two of us shot at the Jolly Archers’ Open Western, Mike Williamson shot well and has now achieved a Second Class Archer Classification for Recurve, Congratulations Mike ! Meanwhile FITA 70’s, now called WA 70’s, were shot on the Amherst Field and Maggie Johnson, our Club Chairman, created a new record for Ladies Barebow WA 70. Martin Ley moved up to a full Warwick and at this rate will soon be a Third Class Archer, which is much better than it sounds ! Everyone else enjoyed themselves, including myself ! I have added WA 70 ( was FITA 70) scoresheets to the website and printed some for the box. See some of you on Wednesday

A hot and Sunny evening for a beginners’ class and members’ shoot. Mike W, Eric and Rob all shot a National round. Eric & Mike added a 2nd class score to their Recurve achievements and Rob managed a 2nd class Barebow score with his flatbow, making 3, so I now have 2nd Class Barebow …… Hooray ! Martin Ley scored a Junior Warwick, a new record but Martin & Nigel really need to move up to a non-junior round to work for a Classification. Short Warwick for instance. Soon be Friday !

It turned out nice for us today. We were a good mixture from beginners through to Roy Lockwood receiving his certificate for a new record for Recurve Long Warwick. I’ve been off with an injured thumb and expected to find a big backlog of scores to enter, but you’ve all been resting and there were none ! No-one shot a Western today, but I did manage a Warwick ok. Two shooting evenings to go before the Jolly Archers’ Open Western next Sunday, I think just Mike Williamson and myself to shoot there this year. Our thanks go to Mike Williamson and his family for hosting the Club’s BBQ in a very fine style, Many Thanks to Mike & Julie.
