Well that’s it for our Outdoor Summer Season. On Friday evening Dennis Williams shot a compound Warwick of 424, just 4 dropped points ! This is a new Club Record, beating Den’s own, set earlier this season. On Sunday we enjoyed a warm afternoon to work on bow settings and sightmarks, ready for next Sunday’s County Handicap Tournament at Wimblington. See you there ? Targets all stowed for the Winter and the locks sprayed with WD40

Our End of Summer Tournament – and the rain did not fall on us ! We had a good turnout and some great results: Before shooting commenced Record certificates and badges were presented: Joshua Chapman, 2 records, Mike Thorley a new record Eric Godber a new record and his 2nd Class Archer Badge Harry Tapp a new record and his First Class Archer Badge. Well done all you archers. The results of the Handicap Tournament are yet to be calculated and will be announced at the AGM, but there were achievements today:- Young Harry Tapp scored his third Junior Bowman score and has achieved Junior Bowman status ! Dennis Williams shot his third First Class score with his compound and has achieved First Class Archer status ! He also beat his own Club Record score ! I managed my third First Class Barebow score so I have now achieved First Class Barebow Recurve Archer status ! I also beat David Stagg’s record for the Long National ! Well done everyone, see you next Sunday.

Lots of activity and some successes to report from the last 2 Sundays:- Young Harry Tapp keeps breaking his own records, has shot two Junior Bowman scores and has achieved his First Class Archer Badge, well done Harry! Not quite so young Joshua Chapman has broken two of his previous records, well done Josh ! Plenty of scores coming in and handicaps being established, great stuff.

Friday 5th September 2014

A real, early Autumn evening at the field, light fading early and squadrons of mosquitos feasting on any exposed flesh or hacking through layers of cloth ! But we weren’t put off ! Coaches were hard at work with their students, targets were in use at all ranges. Roy and I put scores in for a WA 70, Roy a First Clas Personal Best with recurve and me a First Class Second Best with Recurve Barebow. I remembered to award Harry and Joshua their Record certificates, but forget that I had some for David and myself, sorry David, next time !
