This gets more fun every year....!

Extraordinary General Meeting

In order to approve the annual accounts, which had not been finalised by the date of the AGM, an extraordinary General Meeting was held at 11am on Sunday 11 December at the Sports Hall, Barton Road, Ely.  The minutes of the meeting are available on the Members Page.

Waterbeach Open Day 2012

Ely Archers have once again been invited to attend the Open Day which is being held on Saturday 30 June 2012 between 10am and 5pm at Waterbeach airfield to run an archery Have A Go. This event was very successful the last time we attended, with many people trying out archery for the first time. The event is open not just to cadets, families and friends, but also to the general public. The airfield  is now a training base used by the Royal Engineers and Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force. Their Open Day is an opportunity for everyone to see tanks and other equipment, and to have a go at various outdoor activities, as well as archery.  It is hoped to make the event bigger and better than ever in 2012.

Ely Archers 4th Annual Portsmouth competition

Saturday 9 November 2011 was our 4th Annual Open Portsmouth competition, held once again at Littleport Leisure Centre. It was a well attended event by archers from across Cambridgeshire and our neighbouring counties.  We pride ourselves on putting on one of the best (if not the best) competition in the area.

Results are now available here (apologies for the scanned document).  Some photos of the day can be seen here

The date of the 5th annual event has already been fixed as Saturday 17 November 2012 at the same venue.

Club AGM

This year the club's Annual General Meeting was held at the Sports Hall at Barton Road, Ely, on Sunday 30 October 2011 at 11am after the mornings shooting.

Welcome to new committee members!

The date of the next regular committee meeting will be Monday 9 January 2012 at 7.30pm at the Prince Albert and all club members are welcome to attend.

Field Shoot at the Archery Company

Six club members went to the Archery Company in Potton, Beds, on Saturday 15 October to shoot a round at their field targets, as we did last year. The course has been updated and made a lot harder, as was shown by the fact that ten arrows were lost in total on the day!! The weather was brilliant, and it was a very enjoyable day out.  Highest score of the day went to Sean Fox with 382 points, followed by Phil Lenney on 358 and Dave Stagg on 350.  Photos of the day are available on the Photos Page or click here. We hope to organise more of these events in the future, so look out for these!

Club End of Season shoot

The club's End of Season shoot was held on the last official Sunday of the outdoor season, 25 September 2011 and was a Western round (4 doz @ 60yds, & 4 doz @ 50yds).  The shoot was a handicapped one, so everyone had a fair chance of winning the club End of Season Trophy, and the results were announced at the club AGM on 30 October 2011. Photos of the day can be found on the Photos page or by clicking here.
