Field Shoot at the Archery Company A number of club members visited The Archery Company at Potton, near Sandy, Beds on Saturday 21 August 2010 for a Field Shoot arranged by Dave Stagg. For some members, this was their first experience of a Field Shoot. The course consisted of 20 targets, and the expected rain held off so that everyone had an enjoyable day. Some people stayed for a second round after lunch (and a visit to the shop!), and hopefully we will look at arranging further similar events at this venue in the future. Annual Summer Barbecue
Ely Archers held their annual summer barbecue at the
lovely riverside setting of the Toll House, Prickwillow on Saturday 7
August 2010 courtesy of the club's Social Secretary Wendy Wilson and her
husband Mike. Over 20 club members, partners and their families
enjoyed the chance to meet fellow archers informally, have a chat and
consume some excellent food, and even the threatened rain held off.
Everyone is looking forward to next year's event already! Thanks
to Wendy and Mike for another very successful and enjoyable club event. |

Club Newsletters All members should be receiving the club newsletters, and hopefully are finding them useful and informative. Copies of all issues are available on the Members Area of the website.

Beginners Courses The latest Ely
Archers beginners course started on Wednesday 28 July 2010. This
will be the last course that we run this summer, but if you are

Social Event The Club's Social Secretary organised a Car Treasure Hunt on Bank Holiday Monday, 31 May 2010, starting from Thetford Forest Country Park near Mildenhall, and finishing up at the club's local pub, the Prince Albert in Ely. A number of club members, family and friends participated, and thoroughly enjoyed the day. The winning team included Club Secretary Phil Lenney, his partner and their friends. Many thanks to Wendy and Mike for arranging the event!
